Jamie is loving ...

Today it's the turn of the gorgeous and divine Jamie to share some of her insights with us ...

DON’T save bright colors for spring

An age-old technique for making bright, cheery color work in cold weather: add black!

DON’T forget to update your stash of black tights at the beginning of the season. A shiny, no-piles pair makes an outfit look so much more expensive.

DO balance the ratio of black and bright color by experimenting with accessories, outerwear and shoes.

DO fall back in love with the navy-blue peacoat

The peacoat is the new parka” a must have for your autumn wardrobe

DO look for versions with big, exaggerated collars for extra oomph.

DON’T be afraid to invest in this trend. Even when the moment ends, the peacoat will never look out of style.

DON’T play it safe with your handbag

Handbags are large and in charge this season, in color and pattern and mixing unlikely combinations of hardware and material.

DO follow and opt for a classic shape with a wild design. The bag will make a statement but never feel too trendy.

DON’T be limited by your budget. Grab your most glam clutch and wear it during the day for a free-and-easy way to try out this trend.

Nails with a splash of colour

Nails are the new accessory one word that comes to mind NEON - Olay have a beautiful collection to choose from

DO mix it up a little colour blocking is still very popular and eye catching.

DON’T be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something different .

MY adorable pooches

Cyrus and Sky also like to keep up with the fashion all though the selection is limited to their body shape

They do take note from there mummy on keeping warm but staying trendy because we all know winter is just around the corner

Sky has also taken advice and is supporting beautiful royal red nails color coordinating with her collar.

Charlotte shares her insights for winter ...

Favourite hair is big loose curls and top knot buns (see the lovely Charlotte modelling her own stylist up-do!)

Loving the bright colours especially bright blues and matching it with a red lipstick.

For the future, Charlotte has got two overseas trips booked this, first back to Australia and then to Mexico in October where she hopes to get lots of inspiration that she can share with her colleagues and clients!

Amanda is loving ...

Our fantastic beauty therapist Amanda shares some of of what she's currently loving ... working with the great team at H&B and being able to help individuals forget the stresses caused by the earthquakes by pampering them with relaxing facials and massages (brazilians do not count as a relaxation treatment unfortunately!).

Attending the races and meeting John Key, a whirlwind of fun and emotions!!

Eyelash extensions - they are absolutely amazing and an affordable treat to make you feel instantly better and more glamorous.

Spending time with family -  really important since I moved back to Christchurch a couple of years ago to do just this.  Having my wonderful aunt and uncle visit a few weeks ago from the UK was so much fun.

And I'm looking forward to future visits by friends to Christchurch and showing them how this amazing city has not only survived but flourished with vibrant ideas and impromptu shops, bars and open spaces.

The art of vajazzling ...

Definition of vajazzling - the art of applying crystals and diamante to the bits down below, and before you say tacky, we are talking Swarovski crystals ladies.

The latest craze in LA and the UK, we are wondering if it will take off here.

Watch the clip and let us know!

Stop it!

The Christmas party went off with a bang ...

The team at H&B Hair Art & Beauty recently enjoyed a little Christmas soiree at the Keo Thai restaurant in Papanui Road (which we can all highly recommend, fantastic food and wonderful atmosphere).  After all their hard work in a very stressful and shaky Christchurch this year, the team partook of a few beverages, engaged in some lively banter and nibbled elegantly at the gorgeous food.  Well that is what we are pretty sure happened.  Take a look at the pics and see and to all our clients and their families and the great folks of Christmas, H&B wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2012!

Waxing your man ... a step by step guide the easy way!

Dave Nicholas, our lovely Drive Time host and recent shavee for the Child Cancer Foundation (a deed undertaken by the gorgeous Carla no less!) yesterday had the privilege of being waxed by one of our amazing beauty therapists, Amanda.  This was so painless and quick, Dave is wondering (after his initial squeals of astonishment) how he has failed to discover such an enjoyable experience before and apparently can't wait for his newly waxed hairs to grow back to undergo this pleasure again!

Gosh ladies, if your man has this much hair, what are you waiting for ... from the hairy to the sublime in under 15 minutes.  Imagine snuggling next to that smooth skin, no more bed bugs are going to bite you at night!  Gentleman, why oh why have you not thought of this before, no more wind resistance and such aero dynamic engineering it's unbelievable.  Look at the pics to see the full story and ladies book that appointment today for your man ... the new norm is smooth as a baby's b*******
